Foster Poultry Farms has updated its corn dog recall to include whole grain chicken corn dogs due to consumer complaints about pieces of wood in the products. Consumers filed complaints of personal injury.
According to the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), the products “Whole Grain Chicken, Corn Dog, Whole Grain Batter, Wrapped in Reduced Fat Chicken Lollipop” became effective August 7, 2026, so there are concerns about consumers storing these products in home freezers.
The recall of 118,098 pounds of additional products comes after a previous update indicating that the initial recall of 3.9 million pounds of corn dogs included ground turkey products.
Products subject to recall were manufactured between July 30, 2024 and August 4, 2025. List of Products Subject to Initial Recall can be found here. Labels for products included in the initial recall may be found here.
All products subject to recall have the establishment number “P-6137B” either inside the USDA inspection mark or printed on the packaging. According to the recall notice from FSIS, these products were sent to retailers and institutions across the country, including donations from the Department of Defense and the USDA.
Although the food was distributed to schools, it was obtained from commercial sales and was not part of the food provided by the USDA for the National School Lunch Program.
The problem was discovered after FSIS received a consumer complaint about an injury resulting from consumption of these products. In addition, the establishment received many complaints from consumers, 5 of which related to injuries. Anyone concerned about an injury should see a doctor.
FSIS is concerned that some foods may be in consumer refrigerators and freezers, as well as institutional refrigerators and freezers. Consumers and institutions who have purchased these products are strongly advised not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
FSIS regularly conducts recall effectiveness reviews to ensure that recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and that steps are being taken to ensure that the product is no longer available to consumers. When available, retail mailing lists will be posted on the FSIS website at: www.fsis.usda.gov/recalls.
