ZoraSafe Cybersecurity Platform Fights Scams with AI

Advanced artificial intelligence tools now allow attackers to target unsuspecting people more accurately and on a much larger scale. But couldn't AI help unsuspecting users protect themselves from growing online threats and scams?

Well, that is exactly the mission of ZoraSafe. The company aims to launch its AI-powered cybersecurity platform to provide comprehensive protection to vulnerable users, including seniors, families and individual users without technical knowledge.

Zora's cybersecurity platform offers real-time threat detection, educational content, and adaptive training that scales to meet user needs and requirements.

We've taken a closer look at how ZoraSafe works and whether it can truly act as a shield against online threats and scams.

What is ZoraSafe and how does it work?

ZoraSafe is a mobile app that uses artificial intelligence to help users detect and block online scams. It was founded by two sisters, Kat Karow and Ellie Karow King.

Kat has extensive experience in cybersecurity, while Ellie specializes in gamification and educational technology.

Moving on to how ZoraSafe works, here's an overview of the app's feature roadmap. Some features are already available, others are still in beta or coming soon.

1. Real-time (real-time) threat detection

The app will feature AI-powered scanning to detect and block threats in real time before they reach users' devices. It can block malicious links and phishing sites.

Moreover, ZoraSafe can protect users from QR code phishing, where attackers create fake QR codes to trick users into revealing sensitive information or sending money.

2. Smart alerts and notifications (real time)

It will flag malicious, fraudulent texts, calls and emails and send context-sensitive alerts to users. This helps them learn to recognize threats.

3. Family Dashboards (Real Time)

ZoraSafe provides a centralized family dashboard that allows users to manage and monitor all family devices from one place.

4. Zero Trust Network Security (coming soon)

ZoraSafe plans to offer enterprise-grade security to users while focusing on user privacy. The application will process 85% of the data on users' devices and only 15% in the cloud.

The company said all data leaving users' devices will be stripped of personal information.

5. Interactive training modules (beta version)

An important feature of ZoraSafe is gamified cybersecurity training that adapts to each user's profile (age and skill level).

The app will also encourage users to share suspicious messages with the company for evaluation. If messages are found to be malicious, ZoraSafe will add them to its database to help other users.

Katherine, co-founder of ZoraSafe, said in a prepared statement,

We are trying to encourage awareness of scams on social media so that we can also immediately alert the entire Zora network so that one person is alerted to this scam and then we can be sure that everyone in that community will be protected immediately.

6. Behavioral analytics (beta)

The ZoraSafe app will learn about users' online habits, such as how they browse the web, click links or respond to suspicious messages. It will then provide users with personalized protection recommendations.

In addition to these features, ZoraSafe also plans to allow users to participate in phishing calls.

The goal is to analyze the nature of these calls – whether they are simple scams or sophisticated deepfake attempts. The app will train users to identify and handle such phishing calls in the future.

ZoraSafe has not yet officially launched its security platform. Users can join the waiting list to get early access. The timing of ZoraSafe is very important given the rise in online fraud worldwide.

The growing threat of online fraud

With artificial intelligence tools now more accessible than ever, scammers are using them to craft more convincing messages and create fake websites.

According to data from Sift global networkAI-powered fraud prevention platforms, blocking fraudulent content increased by 50% in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period last year. This simply indicates that there are more scam attempts happening online.

And this is not the only alarming statistic. latest survey from MasterCard reports that 80% of users worldwide have experienced a scam attempt in the past year.

It's not just scams seeing a surge. Ransomware attacks are on the rise again after years of decline, draining millions of victims as threat actors harness the growing power of AI.

While scams cause fear and confusion, the real pain comes when victims lose their hard-earned money.

Actually, victims lost $1.03 trillion due to fraud globally. And most scams are carried out through calls, text messages, email, instant messaging apps and social media.

Amid these growing threats, one question remains: can tools like ZoraSafe help protect users from online scams?

Can ZoraSafe Be Your Digital Saver?

ZoraSafe's success in protecting users from online threats depends on how accurately its AI detects real risks without overwhelming users with false alerts.

Finding the right balance between security and ease of use will determine its true value.

Additionally, it remains to be seen how successful ZoraSafe will be in encouraging users to share scam attempts to strengthen community-level protection. Without a large and engaged user base, this feature will be of limited value.

And most importantly, the ZoraSafe application has not yet been released into the public domain, so most of its capabilities remain theoretical. Its effectiveness in combating the ever-changing tactics of fraudsters will only be assessed after its public launch and widespread use.

Until ZoraSafe becomes publicly available, it will remain a promising but untested platform. Its real effectiveness against online fraudsters will become apparent only after launch.
