Google reportedly searching for 15 Pixel “Superfans” to test unreleased phones

The Pixel Superfans program has offered free gifts and special events in the past, but access to unreleased phones would be the biggest benefit. The document explains that those selected for the program will be required to sign a strict non-disclosure agreement and agree to keep their phones in a protective case that conceals their appearance at all times.

Pixels are among the most leaked phones every year. Previously, devices were photographed straight off the production line or “fell off the truck” and went on sale months before release. However, it is unlikely that 15 Superfan testers will result in more leaks. Like most brands, pre-release Google phones come with physical identifiers to help track their origins should they end up in a leak or auction. The NDA will likely be intimidating enough to keep testers in line, as they won't want to lose their superfan privileges. Google also started shared details about his phones earlier— Superfan testers may even participate in these previews.

You can register to become Superfan at any time, but it may take several weeks to gain access after applying. Google hasn't confirmed when the selection process will begin, but it needs to happen soon if Google intends to collect feedback on the Pixel 11. Google's next phone has likely been in development for over a year and will have to lock in features at least a few months before its expected August 2026 release window. The Pixel 10a is expected to launch even earlier, in spring 2026.
