Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 co-director Naoki Hamaguchi has responded to criticism regarding the pacing of the first two games in the trilogy. Addressing fans' complaints that some sections of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth are too long, Hamaguchi said the development team has “struck a balance” with the overall pacing of the upcoming threequel.
Although Hamaguchi believed that these segments were as long as the game needed them to be, he admitted that modern Final Fantasy fans are currently spoiled for choice when it comes to video games.
“In terms of time management in some sections, especially in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, I honestly don't think they were longer than necessary,” Hamaguchi said ScreenRant. “I think nowadays players just have too much to do and too much to play, so they often feel the urge to get things done quickly. As we work to complete the trilogy, we're finding balance in how the storylines are told and distributed to make the game feel a little more concise.”
