Battlefield 6 sells over 7m units in three days, EA confirms

Update October 17, 2025: Electronic Arts has confirmed that Battlefield 6 sold more than seven million copies in the first three days of launch.

The firm also reported that 172 million matches were played and 15 million hours watched on streaming services during the same period.

“We never take moments like this for granted, so I want to express our sincere gratitude to our global Battlefield Studios and the dedicated community that has helped us get to this point,” said Battlefield boss Vince Zampella.

“We appreciate [the players] joined us for the big reveal of Battlefield 6. There's a lot more to come in the coming weeks.”

Original story, October 15, 2025: According to data provided exclusively for Battlefield 6, more than seven million units were sold across all platforms in five days. GamesIndustry.biz.

Alinea Analytics estimates that Battlefield 6 has generated $350 million in gross revenue so far and is “performing better than all premium games released this year” but trails only EA Sports FC 26.

Combined ratings data from Steam, Xbox and PlayStation shows that in the same time period since launch, FC 26 sold 7.7 million units, Monster Hunter Wilds sold 6.2 million, and Borderlands 4 sold 2.3 million.

Additionally, Split Fiction sold 1.3 million copies and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 sold 1.2 million.

Looking at units sold, over half of them were sold on Steam, with over 3.5 million copies bringing in over $220 million.

PlayStation had a 23.7% share and sold over 1.5 million copies, with 86% of PlayStation 5 purchases being digital. 19.6% of copies sold were on Xbox, with a total circulation of over 1.2 million copies.

Looking at the number of players, more than half of the players were on Steam (3.8 million), followed by a quarter of the players on PlayStation (1.8 million) and 20% on Xbox (1.4 million).

Video Game Insights also provided exclusive data GI.biznoting the significant overlap between Battlefield 6 and other similar games.

Call of Duty had the highest overlap at 87.7%, followed by Fortnite (85.1%) and Grand Theft Auto 5: Legacy Edition (80.5%).

In other countries, the main audience for Battlefield 6 on Steam is currently the US, where a third of players buy the game. China has 15% of the market, and Japan – 3%.

Battlefield 6 launched earlier this week (October 10). Within 24 hours of its debut, it became the most popular Battlefield game on Steam. with over 700,000 concurrent players.

This happened a few weeks after the Battlefield 6 open beta. which was previously the most popular game in the series on the platform.
