Washington commanders defender Jayden Daniels suffered a right hamstring injury early in the third quarter on Sunday against Dallas Cowboys and did not return, losing 44–22. The reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year was fired. Shemar Jamesfumbled and fell to the ground, holding the back of his right leg. He limped off the field, walked into the blue medical tent, and then ran off the field and down the tunnel.
His return was initially doubtful, and Marcus Mariota took over on the next ride. Daniels was later eliminated.
Daniels has already missed two games this season due to a sprained knee he suffered in Week 2 against Green Bay Packersalthough this injury was on the left leg. He has been wearing a knee brace ever since.
Mariota started both games that Daniels missed earlier this year and played well, throwing for a touchdown and running for another run in the win over Las Vegas Raiders and throw for two more touchdowns in the loss. Atlanta Falcons.
Washington, at 3-4, is already without three of its best receivers. Terry McLaurin, Deebo Samuel And Noah Brown — entered the game and has been hit hard this season by injuries on both sides of the ball.
