What do you want?

Okay, since I'm a taxpayer and don't have kids, I don't need school, but I still pay taxes. So what are the ATA requirements? We all read about what the government is willing to give, but we read nothing about what teachers want. Let's look at these details and really see if this is about class sizes, teacher benefits and the like, or if this is truly a union smear campaign against the government and unreasonable wage increases. Remember that an increase in salary equals an increase in ATA contributions. Is it really the students?

(It appears that strict class size limits are a sticking point. But there are few details about what teachers are looking for in terms of salary)

Two good options

There are two good candidates for Calgary mayor to deal with the aftermath of the train crash at City Hall. Both Jeromy Farkas and Sonya Sharp would be a welcome relief to a city that has suffered a clear decline due to mismanagement. I believe both options could address financial and social issues that have been ignored or not considered by the current team. The problem is that only one of them can get the job. Then it becomes a personal choice, but I think either one would be a good and dedicated leader.

PHILL BARKER

(The question remains how much they will split the votes)

Consider me confused

We have self-driving cars, robots in manufacturing, spaceships operating autonomously from millions of miles away, but we don't trust a machine to tick off a circle on a form. I'm so confused!

PETER SEXY

(You're not alone. Banning tabulators was a strange decision)

No more Trudeau!

Here are some reviews on Calgary Sun: Enough with the articles and cartoons about Trudeau. It's disgusting to look at the state of our country and even worse what he and his incompetent group of ministers have done to Alberta while ruling Canada for 10 years. I probably speak for the majority of Canadians who don't care about this self-centered, incompetent babble. He took Canada on a trip that will cost all our grandchildren additional taxes to pay for his mistakes.

GORD PETERS

(No doubt he has few friends in these parts. But he is still our former Prime Minister)

Criticism of Israel's fair play

It is not surprising that if you teach younger generations about the horrors of the Holocaust and the need to criticize genocidal authoritarian regimes, then eventually younger generations will begin to criticize Israel's authoritarian and genocidal actions. Much of the criticism of Israel has nothing to do with Judaism, and any conflation of Judaism and Zionism only serves to further the vilification of the Jewish people, who are already the most common victims of hate crimes.

KEITH WATSON

(Hopefully a peace deal will happen and both sides can move forward, but time will tell)
