General Hospital Leads Most Wins

At the Daytime Emmy Awards on Friday, General Hospital had the most wins on the night with seven wins. During her acceptance speech for Best Drama Actress, Nancy Lee Grahn shouted out her fellow nominees, saying, “Ladies, we're going to share this, we're going to spread this far and wide. We're all friends.” After thanking ABC, Gran took a moment to speak out against the Trump administration ahead of the Day Without Kings on Saturday. “With this job comes a literal soapbox, and my parents would be very disappointed in me if I didn’t use it right now to speak up for other people,” she shared. “Our democracy is worth fighting for. The people in it are worth caring about, caring about, and whether you have a platform or not, now is the time, folks. Now is the time to show up, stand up, speak up for human decency. For democracy. Stand up and vote for it every chance you get. Stand up!” This was not the first time that evening that she made a political statement. On the red carpet, Gran and her guests carried bags emblazoned with anti-President Trump phrases such as “There are no kings” and “Democracy dies in silence.”
