If there's one thing special about Jess Sims, it's that she will show up—fully, joyfully, and unapologetically. Peloton instructor and the ESPN reporter somehow fakes it early morning workoutstraveling the country and doing interviews with a smile that could power a stadium. But what really sets her apart isn't just her hustle; it's the heart she puts into everything she does. “I'm at a point in my life where I'm prioritizing being present—being where my feet are so I can enjoy the moment,” Sims tells POPSUGAR. “So when I'm on Peloton, I'm on Peloton, and the only thing that matters is the members. When I go to ESPN College Gameday, I try to use whatever site we're on to learn as much as possible.”
That mindset helped her through what she calls one of the proudest moments of her career: working the Little League World Series. “It was like summer camp,” she says. “Spending 12 days with 12-year-old kids was a lot of fun because I got to hear their stories and see their dreams come true… I felt like a kid myself.” It's this combination of playfulness and determination that makes Sims so magnetic.
Even with a busy schedule, she finds time to take care of herself in a way that is enjoyable and sustainable. Lately she's been leaning towards red light therapy (“I’ve been doing this for years—it helps me recover and lifts my spirits.”) and refuel Ka'Chavaa brand she recently partnered with. “I like to get creative,” she says, noting how during colder months she swaps smoothies for cozy, protein-rich oatmeal. Below, Sims shares everything she needs to help her stay afloat and be prepared for whatever comes next.
