Arnold Schwarzenegger Slams Prop 50 As “A Big Scam”

As California voters weigh Proposition 50 ahead of the important upcoming midterm elections, Arnold Schwarzenegger appeared on Live with Bill Maher campaign against the bill.

Following the Governor Gavin Newsome''Anti-Election Fraud Lawprompted by Texas' recent redistricting efforts to favor Republicans, Schwarzenegger told Maher that he believed “Proposition 50 is a big scam,” noting that “there's gerrymandering going on all over the place.”

“You know who I want to beat? People,” he said. “The people have to win. You see, I'm a Republican, but I'm not a Republican hacker. I'm not a political hacker. I don't serve the party, I always serve the people. The people come first.”

Schwarzenegger continued. “We can't undo something and take away the power that the people of California have and give it back to the politicians. We've been fighting this for too long. Let's not do that. Let's be a good example. Let the Democrats beat the Republicans and therefore, through their work, win and take back the House of Representatives.”

Maher joked, “I don't think that's very realistic.”

The former governor continued to defend the independent California Citizens' Redistricting Commission, which was formed in 2010 with Schwarzenegger's support.

Newsom previously trolled Twins (1988) actor on social media in August when his co-star Danny DeVito made a $1,000 donation to the Yes to 50 campaign.
