Unravel the story in Animas
Venezuelan indie developer Apamate Studio today released a demo of its upcoming horror game Animas on Steam, along with a new trailer. It is a first-person psychological horror game in which players take on the role of an investigator investigating the Blanco family mansion in the remote mountains of northern Venezuela. Guided by the mysterious companion Alma, players uncover the mansion's dark history, spanning multiple generations of the Blanco family. And ultimately he will reveal secrets saturated with violence, mysticism and family drama.
Animas combines psychological horror with Venezuelan folklore, introducing fears rarely seen in games, from ancient beliefs to modern urban legends. The game emphasizes narrative exploration, environmental storytelling, and atmosphere rather than combat mechanics, stealth, or pursuit. Every detail of the mansion heightens the tension, building fear through observations and discoveries rather than outright threats.
The sound design, visual cues and environments create a sense of tension, drawing comparisons to games like Layers of Fear and PT. As players explore, they piece together the Blanco family's fragmented past and encounter a shadowy presence inside the mansion.
Combining cultural influences with a gripping plot, Animas promises a unique, unsettling journey into fear. The demo version on Steam gives you the opportunity to plunge into the chilling plot of the game in advance and see the entire ghostly world. You can watch the official demo launch trailer below.
