Carson Beck throws 4 INTs as Louisville stuns No. 2 Miami

MIAMI GARDENS, FL – Miller Moss scored two touchdowns Chris Bell and ran for the count, Louisville intercepted four of Miami star Carson Beckpasses, and the Cardinals pulled off one of the biggest wins in their history, sweeping the second-place Hurricanes. 24-21 on Friday evening.

Louisville (5-1, 2-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) got touchdowns on its first two drives and jumped out to an early 14-0 lead as the Hurricanes (5-1, 1-1) trailed the rest of the way.

Louisville also ended Miami's 10-game home winning streak. Last team to win in Miami? It was Louisville in 2023.

The Hurricanes were within field goal range, but Louisville TJ Capers intercepted Beck's pass at the 30 with 32 seconds left to seal the win.

Moss completed 23 of 37 passes for 248 yards, and Isaac Brown rushed for 113 yards on 15 carries for Louisville. Bell had nine catches for 136 yards, his touchdown grabs of 35 and 36 yards.

Beck completed 25 of 35 passes for 271 yards for Miami. The Hurricanes didn't have much success offensively with the ball, gaining just 63 yards on 24 carries against a Louisville team that entered the night with the No. 1 defense in the ACC.

Louisville entered the game with a 1-8 record against teams ranked No. 1 or 2 in the AP poll. Then the victory was over – No. 2. Florida State, won 63-20 in 2016.

The Cardinals have never had a night like this on the road. Before Friday, they were 0-18 against top-10 teams in actual road games. Most of them didn't even come close: Louisville lost those games by an average of 26.3 points.

Miami got to 14-10 at the half and trailed 17-13 heading into the fourth, but Moss' 36-yard scoring catch with 13:27 remaining gave the Cardinals a two-point lead again. Beck, who threw two interceptions in the first half, got hit again on his next drive with 7:50 left, but Miami immediately recovered the ball after a fumble.

Malachi Tony scored on a 12-yard run one play later after a fumble, then threw a two-point pass himself and Miami was right back in the game – down 24-21. But the Hurricanes didn't get any closer.
