Channing Tatum cut his leg while filming a nude scene for his new film. Roofer.
In this dramatic comedy the actor Magic Mike as real-life criminal Geoffrey Manchester, who escaped from prison and hid in a toy store for months before being arrested by the police.
In a key scene, Jeffrey (played by Tatum) is showering in the guest bathroom when manager Mitch arrives earlier than expected. He then has to run completely naked, still covered in moss, to get to his secret hideout.
Tatum told Entertainment Weekly that he seriously injured himself while filming a wild ride in which he climbed onto an exercise bike and jumped into his hideout.
“It wasn’t very cool because I was completely naked, so it was impossible to put on protection,” he explained.
“I was wet and covered in soap, it was a really difficult scene. I even hurt myself jumping on a bike rack, then I had to do this comical jump into my little shelter. I couldn't get over the edge and cut my leg. I still have a scar, so we had to tape the wound and continue filming.”
However, the star Step forward admitted that the injury was the least of his worries: his biggest concern was how director Derek Cianfrance was going to film the scene without revealing too much of his naked body.
“I said to myself, ‘How are we going to film this? Because no matter the angle we will still see…” he said with a laugh.
“And he told me: “We will find a solution.” And I say: “What is “finding a solution”? Because you’re right behind me while I’m jumping… You’ll have a clear line of sight!”
Rooferwhich also stars Kirsten Dunst and Peter Dinklage, is currently playing in US theaters. It is scheduled for release this Friday in the UK.
