“The truth is that this situation with Britney seems to be heading towards something irreversible,” Federline, 47, wrote in an excerpt from his book: reviewed by The New York Times.
“It became impossible to pretend that everything was fine,” Federline continued. “From where I sit, the clock is ticking and we are approaching the 11th hour. If something doesn't change, something bad will happen, and my biggest fear is that our sons will be left in the hands.”
Ahead of the Oct. 21 release of Federline's memoir, and in response to a slew of recent news reports about its contents, Spears took to social media to accuse her ex-husband of “gaslighting” and “hurting” the 43-year-old pop star with a book she called full of “white lies.”
“Constant gas lighting from the side [my] an ex-husband is extremely hurtful and tiring. I've always begged and screamed to live with my boys,” the social media post reads. “Dating teenage boys is [sic] difficult. I felt demoralized by this situation and always asked and almost begged them to be a part of my life.”
“Unfortunately, they have always witnessed a lack of respect from [their] for me my own father. They need to take responsibility,” the post continues. “Because one son only saw me for 45 minutes.[utes] in the last 5 years, and the other has only 4 visits in the last 5 years. I have pride too.”
Spears' message said that from now on, she will “let them know when I'm available.”

Spears also said she has lived a “sacred and private life” since being released from conservatorship. officially ended in 2021 after nearly 14 years of careful observation and monitoring.
“I'm actually a pretty smart woman who has been trying to live a sacred and private life for the last 5 years. I'm saying this because I've had enough and any real woman would do the same,” the post concludes.
Earlier this week, Spears' rep published a statement after Federline stated that Toxic The singer watched her sons sleep “with a knife in their hand.”
“Given the news that Kevin broke the book, he and others are cashing in on her again, and unfortunately, this comes after Kevin's child support ended,” Spears' rep said in response to excerpts from the upcoming memoir.
“All she cares about is her children, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and their well-being during this bombshell. She detailed her journey in her memoir,” her rep added about her 2023 book. The woman in me.
Federline told New York Times that he hasn't spoken to Spears “in years.” But in his memoir, he reportedly writes of being troubled by what he calls “Spears' erratic behavior, which he learned about largely second-hand from their two sons.”
“Sometimes they would wake up at night and find her standing silently in the doorway, watching them sleep: 'Oh, are you awake?' — with a knife in his hand,” he states in an excerpt provided to the publication. “Then she turned around and left without explanation.

“Because it's not about freedom anymore. It's about survival,” he added.
Federline told the Times that he did not discuss the contents of the memoir with Spears.
“I've never, ever, ever been against Britney,” he said. “I was just trying to help my sons build an incredible relationship with their mother. And it's hard because when I really think about everything that happened, my children don't know the woman I married. And I spent two decades trying to bridge that gap.”
Spears and Federline met in 2004 when he was a dancer at a Hollywood club. They married later that year, but divorced in 2006, shortly after the birth of their second son.
