EB Games Canada is opening a large new store in downtown Montreal this week.
The store will be located on Cours Mont-Royal (1455 Peel Street) with a grand opening on Thursday, October 16th at 12:00 p.m. To celebrate, the retailer is promising gifts with purchases for the first 100 customers, exclusive prize drawings and displays of Nintendo, Pokémon and Bandai Namco products.
On top of that, this Montreal flagship will introduce EB Games Canada's new Trading Card Game (TCG) program, allowing customers to buy and sell individual games from a variety of card games. The retailer says it plans to expand the program to other stores across Canada in the future.
Notably, this Montreal flagship store is EB Games Canada's first new store since French-Canadian entrepreneur Stéphane Tétrault acquired the chain from previous owner GameStop. As part of the move, Tetrault rebranded the stores as EB Games Canada, which is what they were known as until they changed to GameStop Canada in 2021. Tetro also promised a return to the origins of the brandincluding similar community events as well as TCG events.
