Sonic the Hedgehog Miniature Arcade Cabinet Coming Soon

Sonic the Hedgehog is well known as Sega's enduring mascot, especially during the publisher's nearly two decades as a console maker from 1983 to 2001. The company is also a pioneer in the slot machine industry, with many of its most important games beginning as groundbreaking arcade machines. However, despite this, the original Sonic the Hedgehog never received its own arcade version – until now. Sega teams up with My Arcade on a new game Player with Sonic the Hedgehog joystick mini-office. The tiny device includes the first two Sonic the Hedgehog games with fully playable controls, but it's small enough to fit on your shelf. The Collector's Edition goes on sale November 1st, with pre-orders available on Amazon for $60.

My Arcade also has several other compact arcade machines to choose from right now if you're looking to build a nice arcade collection. Like the Sonic body, they all feature bright screens and roughly the same physical dimensions. They show a game with a joystickr is notable for replacing the traditional arcade joystick with a larger one that feels like it came out of the cockpit of a space fighter. You can also grab Pacman And Miss Pac-Man devices are here, and each one costs about $50.

More My Arcade Mini Cabinets

Apart from My Arcade, you can also check out Arcade1Up's machines. $168 Arcade1Up Contracade class of 1981 has a 7-inch vertically oriented LCD screen and full-size arcade controls, and games on this model include Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga. and Dig Dag. It can also be powered by four AA batteries or a USB-C connector, and can easily be placed on your desk when you need some quick retro fun. It looks great thanks to the accurate artwork of Ms. Pac-Man and Galaga.

$260 Evercade Alpha Taito Bartop Arcade Scheduled to launch on November 12, this miniature cabinet has an 8-inch display and 10 pre-installed games. You can even expand your library to hundreds of other games by purchasing Evercade cartridge collections. This is Evercade's third alpha following the launch of Mega Man and Street Fighter editions, and if history repeats itself, we expect it to sell out soon after release.

Our other recommendation does cost a lot more, but in comparison, there are still inexpensive standing arcade cabinets available on Arcade1Up. They cost $334 each and are themed around Mortal Kombat 2, Miss Pac-ManAnd Pacman. Each cabinet comes preloaded with 13 games, and all feature a 15.6-inch IPS display, dual stereo speakers, Wi-Fi support for leaderboards and multiplayer, and a wide range of controls.

Aside from the highlighted titles, they also come preloaded with quite a few games, and if you'd like to increase their height to make them more adult-friendly, you can purchase universal Arcade1Up Riser for $59 and raise them 5 feet. They require some assembly, but Arcade1Up's instructions are easy to follow and putting one together is extra fun.
