Priscilla Presley spoke in her new memoirs Softly When I Leave You: Life After Elvisthat Robert Kardashian wanted to marry her.

The 80-year-old actress, writer and lawyer dated two years after her divorce from Elvis Presley in 1973.
“Robert was a good man and I liked him,” Priscilla Presley said in her book. Robert wanted to get married, but I knew it wouldn't work. I wasn't ready to get married again.”
Her ex-husband also allegedly called her in the middle of the night while she was in bed with the lawyer.
“It didn't occur to him that I could be lying down. It certainly didn't occur to him that I could be with another man,” we read. “Despite our divorce, he still couldn't get his head around the idea that I could be with someone else.”
A moment that caused some fear: “He would go crazy, probably literally, if he knew Robert was in my room. Elvis always had a loaded gun, sometimes more than one.
Robert Kardashian married Kris Jenner in 1978, with whom he hosted Kourtney, Kim, Khloe and Robert Kardashian, well known for their family reality shows.
The former couple divorced in 1990, a decade before Robert Kardashian died at age 59 in 2003 from esophageal cancer.
