Kaz Nejatian has named Shopify VP of Operations Jang LeGris as head of operations at San Francisco-based real estate technology company Opendoor.
Nejatian, the former chief operating officer of Canada's largest tech company Shopify, has since strengthened Opendoor's leadership position. assuming the responsibilities of General Director position last month. In a message published on XNejatian called LeGris his “second-in-command” at Shopify and a “world-class leader.”
“Having overseen the transformation of operations teams and led financial planning, analysis and business intelligence at Shopify, I trust no one else in the world to help Opendoor find its next hardware,” Nejatian said.
LeGrice is the second former Shopify colleague Nejatian has brought to Opendoor since he took over. Former Shopify Product Manager Fahd Ananta joined Opendoor shortly after Nejatian took over the company's “everything customer experience.”
Nejatyan has worked at Shopify since 2019, but took the reins into his own hands On Opendoor from interim CEO Srisha Radhakrishna in September, after GameStop style trading period led by retail investors. Nejatyan has doubled from a populist perspective, parting ways with external relations agencies Opendoor in favor of using X to communicate directly with its investors. Nejatyan recently stated that Opendoor will look to open an office in Toronto.
LeGrice joins Opendoor with new Chief Development Officer Morgan Brown. Brown joins from Dropbox, where he served as vice president of product and artificial intelligence (AI) product development. Brown will focus on creating an organization focused on development and marketing using artificial intelligence, he wrote in the article Post on LinkedIn.
Shopify last week filled the vacancy of Nejatian's chief operating officer. general counsel promotion Jess Hertz gets to work. While Shopify has filled one open position, there is now another senior management vacancy remaining after CRO Bobby Morrison announced his departure after three years with the company.
