Matvey Michkov did not have a very successful start in Philadelphia. The Russian winger, in his second season in the NHL, did not score a single point in three games.Of course, it's still a very small sample, but he was taken off the score sheet again tonight despite scoring five goals for his side.
However, earlier today we were talking about the Michkov case. Spit Chicletswhile the podcast hosts discussed his slow start to the season…And from what they heard, it may be more than just bad luck:
[Matvei Michkov] arrived at camp in poor physical shape.

Tochet says Michkov suffered an ankle injury this summer that affected some of his offseason training. Although now he is completely healthy.
“So when it comes down to it, he's a little behind the eight, but that's what we're going to fix.” – Charlie O'Connor (@charlieo_conn) October 13, 2025
I wonder if this injury is related to car accident that Michkov got into in the summer. We know this all caused concern for a lot of people around the league (especially in Philadelphia), but we haven't heard of any injuries since then.Even if in fact we know that it is possible. However, it is strange that Tocchet is only now revealing all this.In any case, we will have to see if Michkov can catch up with the rest of the group. Because what is clear is that he didn't make it to camp 100%, injury or not.You can believe any version you want.

It's PERFECT that there are fights happening in Colorado! Crosby will never want to play on a team with a tough atmosphere!
This narrows down the choice!!!

Chris Johnston: Regarding Alex Thach: He's a guy from Western New York, he expressed a pretty strong desire to stay there; I think he'll do it, but the Sabers… it's a tough situation, but I think they'll want to keep good players – The Chris Johnston Show (10/13)
