Anthony Richardson was inactive for Sunday's game against Cardinals after being injured while warming up before a game, and according to ESPN's Stephen HolderThe Colts' backup quarterback will likely miss several games due to the incident. After the game, Colts coach Shane Steichen told reporters that Richardson suffered a fractured orbit, requiring him to spend Sunday's game at a local hospital. The injury was allegedly caused by a malfunction of the elastic band he was using. Richardson attached the bracelet to a pole in the locker room, the pole broke and hit his face hard.
The swelling around Richardson's eye is reportedly so severe that his vision is temporarily impaired. However, Richardson is not believed to have suffered damage to his eyeball.
Richardson's role as backup Daniel Jones received a sixth-round rookie pick Riley Leonardwho will remain the Colts' QB while Richardson recovers unless the team gets another backup option.
