Sub-Zero and Red Sonja are also about to join the battle.
DC Comics What event began in early October and features Superman, Batman and other DC favorites in a tournament to be crowned King of Omega and save the universe from Darkseid. The first issue is full of shocking surprises (which we won't spoil here), but perhaps even more surprising is that the event will expand beyond the various DC Comics universes and include characters from other franchises such as The Boys and Mortal Kombat.
At New York Comic Con on Friday during the Jim Lee & Friends panel, DC introduced Boys' Homeland, Mortal Kombat's Sub-Zero, Vampirella, Red Sonja, Annabelle from The Conjuring and Samantha from The Conjuring. Under the trees where no one can see will all guest star in a special episode dedicated to What event in February 2026.
Writer Scott Snyder described the issue as “a big special thing… something you can pick up and really enjoy” (via pop chicks). This crossover occurs after the publication of DC Comics and Marvel. Deadpool/Batman #1 last month which was full funny teams. One shot published by DC Batman/Deadpool #1 will be released in November, and publisher crossovers will continue in 2026 with books about Superman and Spider-Man.
At this time, DK KO will continue in 2026 and will be connected to various DC series such as Superman No. 31. DK KO #2 will be released on November 26th.
