The Steam Next Fest demo immerses players in a '90s-inspired roguelike world where the combat system combines the classic ATB system reminiscent of Final Fantasy with the speed and intensity of modern action games. Timing is of the essence: parry perfectly to counter, dodge to survive, and chain strategically to regain control of the battlefield.
Between runs, players unlock new equipment and recruit companions that influence combat tactics and add depth to each encounter. The demo offers a glimpse into a fragmented, long-forgotten world, testing reflexes and strategic thinking, hinting at great adventures to come.
This latest demo expands on the previous version with several updates. Two new elemental zones, Earth and Lightning, introduce new enemy patterns and hazards to complement the Fire and Water biomes. The developer has improved the pacing of combat, allowing players to dodge every attack and anticipate moves that were previously impossible to parry. They've overhauled the in-game economy to speed up progression, and new mini-challenges now unlock characters based on each player's playstyle.
In addition to the demo, Rodriguez released Eclipse Breaker Boss Rush, a free offline mode on Steam. Designed for fast, intense sessions, it challenges players to take on each boss in sequence, satisfying enthusiasts' need for leaderboards and quests for mastery.
