Turtle Beach Burst II Pro review
It's safe to say that we at COGconnected have been fans of the Burst line for years. Back in 2020 the original Burst Pro was impressive So many of us are that we gave it a score of 96, calling it one of the most responsive and technically advanced mice in its class. Then Air Mouse Burst II it then performed nearly flawlessly, scoring 95 thanks to its lightweight design and incredible wireless performance. The Burst II Air has been my favorite mouse for a while. Turtle Beach is back again with the Burst II Pro, and once again it feels like the team took everything we loved and created a mouse that excels on every level.
The Burst line of mice has always been known for speed and precision. It really hasn't changed since day one. Turtle Beach bills the Burst II Pro as a “high-performance 8K wireless eSports gaming mouse.” I know this sounds like marketing fluff, but it really isn't. It's so good. With 8K wireless polling rates and 0.125ms latency, it's 8x faster than standard gaming mice. Every movement, swipe and adjustment feels instantaneous and smooth. It didn't matter what I was playing or where I was working, this mouse responded with incredible speed.
turbocharged
Under the hood, it features a 30K DPI Owl-Eye sensor that offers 750 IPS tracking speed and 70 g acceleration. Whether you're playing on cloth, wood, or even glass, Burst II Pro tracks at 99.8% resolution, which is astoundingly accurate. I've used this thing on an old, crusty coffee table, a high-quality mouse pad, and even a fabric couch surface. In all three cases, the mouse responded as I had hoped. It glides so nicely. If you are a competitive gamer, you will definitely love the stability and speed of this mouse.
Another standout feature is Turtle Beach's updated Titan optical switches. They have a rating of 100 million clicks, and those clicks are both clear and satisfying. Each click feels tactile and deliberate, clicking, without the softness you can sometimes get with other mouse switches. Plus, with adjustable debounce and preload, you can customize the pressure response to your liking. This is a fantastic option for competitive gamers who value microseconds of input time. Personally, I'm quite happy with the default settings.
Despite all this power, Burst II Pro doesn't sacrifice any stamina. You'll get up to 40 hours of battery life at 8K polling or an incredible 150 hours at 1K polling. If you prefer Bluetooth mode for everyday use, it extends it to 165 hours. This shortens the lifespan of most mice in this series, making them a convenient daily commuter for both work and play. I like the fact that I won't have to worry so much about the mouse dying to me mid-game.
It should be noted that charging is carried out via a 1.8m shielded USB-C to USB-A cable. The package even includes a USB-C adapter for easy switching between settings.
Nothing flashy
Weighing just 57 grams, the Burst II Pro strikes the perfect balance between lightweight maneuverability and rugged design. It's a simple and somewhat boring looking symmetrical shell. However, it feels comfortable in my hands and is particularly good for claw and fingertip grips. Like my Rav 4, there's nothing visually appealing about it, but like that Toyota, it excels on almost every level and is the best in its class.
Durability became an issue after my Burst II Air took a couple of drops. Naturally, I'm skeptical about whether the Pro can take a beating. Meanwhile, the durable upper provides a durable feel while maintaining ultra-lightweight comfort. This is exceptionally convenient for long gaming sessions.
In addition to customization, Turtle Beach includes three different skate sets (low-friction Teflon, 8-point PTFE dome skates, and 8-point UHMWPE skates for glass surfaces), as well as adhesive tape for added control. It's a small but thoughtful touch. It's really all about making this mouse look like it's made for you and not just the general market.
The Turtle Beach Burst II Pro is one of the best mice I've ever used. Every aspect, from the ultra-fast wireless connection and reliable switches to the grip and exceptional battery life, the Burst II Pro was built for serious competition. Turtle Beach continues to improve upon its already excellent design. At $139.99, it's not exactly cheap, but that's to be expected for a professional-grade mouse. For this price it exceeds all expectations. If you're looking for uncompromising precision, comfort, and reliability, the Burst II Pro is one of the best gaming mice of 2025.
