Amy Poehler Recruits Tina Fey, Seth Meyers for ‘Weekend Update’ Return

Amy Poehler reunites with Tina Fey and Seth Meyers behind the Weekend Update desk on Saturday Night Live.

Poehler, who was a cast member on the late-night comedy show from 2001 to 2008. returned to the owner for the third time October 11 with musical guest Role Model.

The episode featured a fun reunion with Poehler, Fey and Meyers, who co-anchored “Weekend Update” during their time on “SNL.”

Fey worked alongside alum Jimmy Fallon from 2000 to 2004 before she and Poehler began performing from 2004 to 2006. After Fey left “SNL” in 2006, Poehler continued to work on the “Update” desk with Meyers until her departure in 2008.

On the October 11 episode, Poehler challenged current hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che: “Weekend Update” joke live. Unexpectedly, Fey and Meyers joined the actor at the table, and Poehler joked that they were “My first wife and my second wife.”

Both teams had a chance to create a punchline for a scene about a Tennessee woman giving birth to a 13-pound baby, with Poehler performing first.

“The woman gave birth to a 13-pound baby that was so big it slapped the doctor's butt,” Poehler said.

Fey quickly followed, adding, “A woman gave birth to a 13 pound baby and the newborn's name is AAAAAAAAA!”

Meyers ended his group and boomed, “A woman gave birth to a 13-pound baby. Man, did she give birth to him or did he kick him out?”

When it came time to switch over to the current co-hosts, Che went first and decided to share a “fun fact” about the baby's birth.

“The second the baby was born, the woman was running around the room like a deflated balloon,” Che said.

When it came time for Yost to make a joke, he added, “A woman gave birth to a 13-pound baby. The baby was called the Wizard because he basically sawed his mother in half.”

Poehler, Fey and Meyers ultimately took gold with the Parks and Recreation star's NSFW final joke: “A Tennessee woman broke a hospital record after giving birth to a 13-pound baby. The record was for loosest vagina, and it previously belonged to me!”

Fey's cameo on “Weekend Update” wasn't her only appearance during Poehler's appearance.

The “30 Rock” star also appeared in the show is cold open as Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, opposite Poehler's performance as Attorney General Pam Bondi.

Poehler's episode featured several other celebrities, including her Parks and Recreation co-star Aubrey Plaza. pre-recorded sketch about “Hunter Wives”.

The role model also called Charli XCX her “Sally” during his speech role in the film “Sally When the Wine Runs Out” once belonged to TODAY's Al Roker.
