TORONTO, Oct. 12, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Nearly half of Canadians will skip Thanksgiving dinner to go to the Blue Jays game this weekend, a new survey shows.
And 52% of Gen Xers would prefer a stadium to a turkey dinner.
The poll also found that approximately 50% of all Canadians would change their Thanksgiving dinner plans if the Blue Jays' playoff games coincided. Most plan to leave the game running in the background, pause it, or record the game to watch later.
“You can feel the energy and passion for the Blue Jays across the country,” said Terri Tweddle, director of brand and communications for Rogers. “As the proud owners of Team Canada, we are thrilled to see fans making the Jays part of their Thanksgiving traditions.”
Games 1 and 2 of the ALCS are scheduled for Thanksgiving Sunday and Monday at the Rogers Center. Rogers is giving away 500 free tickets for fans to sit in the section for every Blue Jays home game at Rogers Center throughout the MLB postseason.
The company is also giving away Blue Jays Post Season tickets to its customers through Rogers Beyond the Seat, including a grand prize for each episode that includes a pair of tickets with air and lodging. Rogers customers can visit rogers.com/bluejays enter for a chance to win.
