Former President Joe Biden is reportedly undergoing five weeks of radiation treatment to treat prostate cancer diagnosed earlier in May.
“As part of his prostate cancer treatment plan, President Biden is currently undergoing radiation and hormone treatment,” Biden spokesman said NBC News on Saturday.
Biden, 82, is already taking hormonal medications, and this course of radiation therapy marks a new stage in his treatment, a source told the publication.

In September, Biden was also subjected to operation remove skin Cancer from the forehead. The procedure is known as Mohs surgery and involves removing thin layers of skin until there are no signs of cancer.
In 2023, while still in office, Biden had a cancerous skin lesion removed during a routine medical examination, the publication notes. His doctor then said no further treatment was required.

“Last week, President Joe Biden was evaluated for a new prostate nodule after increasing urinary symptoms. On Friday, he was diagnosed with Gleason 9 (Grade 5) prostate cancer with bone metastases,” the statement said.

“Although this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be sensitive to hormones, allowing it to be effectively treated. The President and his family are reviewing treatment options with their doctors,” the statement said.
Given that his cancer had already metastasized to the bone, it is possible that it remained undiagnosed for many years, the newspaper notes.
Biden is reportedly “feeling well” at this time, the outlet added.
