Toronto police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man wanted for attempting to break into a home near Christy Pits early Wednesday morning.

Police said officers responded to a call Wednesday asking for a break and entry to Christie Street and Yarmouth Road. area south of Dupont Street.

At approximately 2:50 a.m., the suspect was reportedly captured on video attempting to enter the home through the back door.
Police said the suspect then sprayed the security camera with an unknown substance.
He did not enter the house and eventually fled, police said.

Investigators believe the same person may be responsible for another home invasion that happened nearby around the same time.
Investigators released photographs of the suspect.
