IDW has big plans for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise this fall. In addition to launching a new creative team on the flagship TMNT series, they are also launching a multiverse crossover comic called TMNT: Battle Nexus. Today, the publisher gave fans a chance to get a closer look at Battle Nexus #1 at NYCC.

TMNT: Battle Nexus is a five-issue limited series with each chapter developed by a different creative team but telling a single story. The full creative staff includes writers Tom Waltz, Paul Allor, Sophie Campbell, Caleb Goellner and Eric Burnham, and artists the Escorsa Brothers, Ben Bishop, Vitor Cafagi, Omar Francia and Hendry Prasetya.
“There are many moments and events in TMNT history that I call 'touchstones' – traditional events such as a family visiting an old farm in Northampton to regroup and recover.” Waltz previously told IGN. “Well, being part of Battle Nexus is another one of those touchstones, and my TMNT colleagues and I, along with the amazing editorial team at IDW and Paramount, have come up with a new twist on Battle Nexus that I believe will blow the minds of fans old and new, and I'm very proud to be a part of it. Five different creative teams have come together to create one cohesive, bombastic story that introduces a fan-favorite character from the history of TMNT to the IDW universe. Hope everyone is ready for battle…Battle Nexus style!”
TMNT: Battle Nexus #1 will be released on November 12, 2025, with a pre-order deadline of October 6. You can pre-order your copy at your local comic book store.
