'Grey's Anatomy' Alum Sandra Oh: Details Causing Screenwriters 'Grief' Over Script Demands
Gray Sloan Memorial Hospital staff are dealing with yet another tragedy.
After Gray's Anatomy The Season 21 finale ended with a hospital explosion, leaving the fates of many of the main characters in doubt, including Dr. Atticus “Link” Lincoln (Chris Carmack) and Dr. Monica Beltran (Natalie Morales), in the Season 22 premiere, it was revealed that Dr. Beltran had died and Link was going through a major recovery period.
At the October 9 premiere, Beltran was crushed by hospital equipment falling on her from the impact of the explosion.caused by leakage from acetylene tank brought by a dissatisfied patient. However, she is able to help surgical intern Jules Millen (Adelaide Kane) save a young patient before she ultimately succumbed to her injuries due to the rescuers taking too long to get to the operating room where they were stranded.
Meanwhile, at the beginning of the episode, Link suffered a much more serious injury when some equipment fell on his chest. However, he miraculously survives – despite failing at one point – thanks to Dr. Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson), Dr. Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) and Dr. Ben Warren (Jason George) we work together to save him.
