ESPN's Adam Schefter reported a couple of weeks ago that Detroit Lions contacted the league office to follow up on star Aidan Hutchinson's ban, but head coach Dan Campbell was having none of it.
Hutchinson returned to action this season after breaking his tibia and fibula last season, and Schefter said in his report that the Lions turned to league office about low hits.
Campbell, 49, called Schefter's report “fake.”

“It's fake. This is a bogus report,” an animated Dan Campbell told reporters Wednesday.
“I don't know where it came from. Nobody here has ever done this. This is nonsense.”
Schefter's report appeared on ESPN's “Monday Night Countdown” before the Lions beat the Lions. Baltimore Ravens 38-30 in the third week.

“He is recovering from a broken tibia and fibula. If you look at his performance (in) the first two games of the year, what stands out is the fact that it feels like he's being ignored by opponents, so much so that the Lions have raised the issue with the league office,” Schefter said, according to “97.1 Ticket.”
“If you go back and watch film from the first game, you'll see Green Bay attacking the legs of Aidan Hutchinson.
“There are a few times that happens where they lose Hutchinson. Some of the same plays we saw in Week 1 vs. Green Bay were also on display in Week 2 against the Bears. The Lions have taken notice and asked the league office to monitor games against Aidan Hutchinson, but that doesn't mean it will protect him. But obviously other people noticed these plays, and the Lions want the league office to notice that, too.”

The former Pro Bowler recorded 7½ sacks in five games last season before being injured.
Hutchinson will look to continue his strong play when the Lions take on the Lions. Kansas City Chiefs (2-3) Sunday 8:20 PM ET.
