Secretary of War Pete Hegseth made a shocking announcement about the military draft after clearing the US Army of the invasion, and blamed President Donald Trump's leadership as the main reason.
During a Trump Cabinet meeting at the White House on Thursday, Hegseth said hiring and rehiring were at record levels, exceeding the goals they had set for the year.

Wow 🤯
In the first TWO WEEKS of fiscal year 2026, the Marine Corps has already reached its one-year reenlistment goal.

“We saw record hiring in 2025, Mr. President,” Hegseth told the press. “The first two weeks [Fiscal Year] 2026 [which starts in October] this is already knocking…[FY 2026] is already blowing it out of the water.”
“In fact, Marine Corps reenlistment has already reached its annual goal in 2026,” he added, to which Trump responded, “A record high.”
“There is no other way to generate such love and enthusiasm except under your leadership, sir,” Hegseth continued.
The Secretary of State has made it clear that there is one reason for all this interest in the military: Trump. And this is further proof of how wrong the left is about what Americans want. These are concrete numbers that show that all of them are waiting for the changes brought by Hegseth and the administration of President Trump.
The Secretary of War made numerous changes, including getting rid of Pride shit and DEI, after previously defending the Trump Department of Defense's sound policies, which were based on President Trump's Executive Order 14183 (Prioritizing Military Superiority and Readiness – White House). Policy dictates that the Army can no longer recruit transgender people and that transgender people are not eligible to remain in the military, RedState reported
These changes also include returning to the things that make the military great, such as ending the ban on powerful basic training tacticshaving established a directive that generals should be correspond and disciplined, and even dealing with the decrepit military barracks.

ALSO: Hooray! Meet the new and better War Department
As my RedState colleague Becky Noble said reportedHegseth recently announced: “formation of a new task force over the next 30 days to address the long-standing deplorable living conditions in the barracks of all branches of the country's military.”
Our soldiers deserve the best.
That's why we're announcing the creation of a new barracks task force. pic.twitter.com/864b8q7nq9

Noble wrote:
Like most things [former President Joe] The Biden administration has failed to address the unacceptable conditions that were discovered and documented in a 2023 Government Accountability Office (GAO) report that found substandard living conditions in the barracks. At the time of the announcement, Hegseth stated, “Every member of our joint force deserves clean, comfortable, and safe housing.”
Once again, Trump and Hegseth have the support of Americans in what they are doing to make America great again.
Editor's note: Schumer's completion is here. Instead of putting the American people first, Chuck Schumer and radical Democrats forced the government to shut down health care to illegal immigrants. They own it.
