MAGICAL POST-MEMORIES OF CANADA

Fifty-three years ago, when I was 10, I remember with great pleasure licking an eight-cent mint stamp to send a letter (letter!) to a pen pal in Vancouver (the other side of the country!).

Magically, he responded with a letter containing another eight-cent Canadian stamp!

It was magical for me then. Today I have pen pals all over the world who can be served for a $3 stamp. Much cheaper than flying there.

I love Canada Post! I think they have always offered me great value, reliable service, dedication and responsibility.

I don't understand the politics, egos and bullshit that goes on within their union and ranks.

These good people provide an important service to our country and deserve praise on many levels.

Please leave the policy.

Love you guys, take care of yourselves.

BILINGUAL BONUS? WHY?

For those who don't know, in addition to government salaries and pensions, there is a small benefit called the “bilingual bonus.” While $800 a year doesn't sound like a lot of money, add up the number of people who receive it and it becomes a very large item in the expense category.

NEED PHOTO RADAR

I disagree with Premier Doug Ford's proposed legislation to remove photo radar, especially in school zones. Not only are cameras expensive to replace, but there is no evidence that flashing lights slow down drivers.

For safety reasons, the photo radar must remain. Speeding too fast through school zones. And without deterrents, there is a possibility of more accidents.

School areas should be protected areas. Blindly removing cameras will not improve the safety of our children.

We can't have police officers in multiple locations around the city holding out radar guns to catch speeders.
