After months of anticipation, Rortos has officially released Real Combat Simulator worldwide, and it looks like a pretty ambitious flight combat simulator built for mobile devices. Developed by Ten Square Games Group, this is a complete game for everyone who has ever wanted to capture a target and feel the intensity of modern air combat.
RCS puts you in control of an impressive roster of aircraft, from the A-10C Thunderbolt II and its menacing cannon to the sleek F-16C Fighting Falcon, F/A-18 Super Hornet and M-346FA Master. They are all very accurate recreations, right down to the switches, radars and countermeasures used during combat.
Ironically, this experience seems quite valid. Flight physics, changing weather and real air bases make every mission dynamic. You can take off from real air bases, fly through changing weather conditions and watch the time of day change as the battle progresses. The calm before contact is as tense as the skirmish that follows.
The simulator also gives you room to experiment. The mission editor lets you control everything from the weather to enemy behavior, and the real-time multiplayer is ideal if you want to test your skills against real-life opponents. And all those epic moments in the air, the built-in replay system allows you to relive everything in a cinematic manner.
Smartphones are becoming more powerful, and the mobile SIM card genre is growing steadily. Games like Real flight simulator have already shown that there is a real demand for high-quality experiences that go beyond the usual arcade games, and RCS could be the next step in bridging the gap between mobile devices and consoles.
Real Combat Simulator is now available on iOS and Android for €0.99, and uses a subscription model to unlock all its features (€5.99 per month or €40.99 per year).
