Week 21 of the 2025 CFL regular season has come to an end with the Edmonton Elks and Ottawa Redblacks ending their seasons, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats finishing in first place in the East Division, the BC Lions finishing second in the West Division, and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Saskatchewan F.C. The Roughriders and Montreal Alouettes are looking to stay in shape.
These awards are selected 3DownNation'and will be presented weekly throughout the 2025 season. Enjoy.
Offensive Player of the Week: QB Nathan Rourke, BC Lions
The Victoria, British Columbia native threw for 368 yards, three touchdowns and one interception to beat the Regina Roughriders for second place in the West Division as BC Rourke wasn't productive on the field—he only rushed once for five yards—but threw so far he almost caught Bo Levi Mitchell in the race for the CFL passing crown despite playing two fewer games this year.
Honorable Mention: QB Bo Levi Mitchell, Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Defensive Player of the Week: Jacob Roberts, Calgary Stampeders
The Stampeders did a stellar job stopping Justin Rankin, holding the star running back to nine carries for one yard, and Roberts was a big part of the reason for that. The 24-year-old Charlotte, North Carolina native led the team with nine defensive tackles and also recorded two sacks and one loss. The Wake Forest punter finished his first full season as a starter with 102 tackles, four sacks and one forced fumble.
Honorable Mention: DB Marc-Antoine Dequois, Montreal Alouettes
Special Teams Player of the Week: P Jake Julien, Edmonton Elks
Native of Barrie, Ontario. had a tremendous day punting for Edmonton, averaging 51.8 yards per punt. Considering the CFL averaged about 38 net yards per punt in 2025, that means the Moose essentially gained 14 extra yards every time they punted against the Stampeders. While the performance didn't end in a win, Julien deserves recognition for how dominant he was on special teams.
Honorable Mention: P. Carl Meyer, BC Lions.
Player of the Week: L.B. Braxton Hill, Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Ottawa's defense handed out interceptions like Halloween candy last week and Hill took full advantage of it, recording five tackles, two interceptions and one knockdown. The Tigercats have had several freshman linebackers play big roles this season, including Devin Veresuk and Kyler Fisher, and Hill is a solid part of that group. The 26-year-old finished his first CFL season with 30 tackles and two picks.
Honorable Mention: REC Jalon Calhoun, Edmonton Elks
Offensive Line of the Week: Hamilton Tiger-Cats
The unit of Jordan Murray, Brandon Revenberg, Coulter Woodmansey, Liam Dobson and Quinton Barrow was the only one in the CFL to avoid a sack in Week 21. Greg Bell also had a productive game behind blockers, rushing 15 times for 94 yards and reaching 1,000 yards on the year, marking only the sixth time in league history that six different rushers reached this milestone in one season.
Honorable Mention: Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Coach of the Week: DC Brent Monson, Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Hamilton's defense crushed the Redblacks on Friday Night Football, limiting the team to 15 points and 283 net yards. The Tabbies also recorded six takeaways and four sacks while terrorizing Tyree Adams and Matthew Schiltz to cap Ottawa's disappointing season. If the Steeltown defense can maintain that level of intensity in the playoffs, they could very well win it all in Winnipeg in three weeks.
Honorable Mention: DB Bob Slowik, Calgary Stampeders.
Markel Lee read this play like a book! Calgary gets the ball back after the third stop!#CFLGameday

Game of the Week: LB Markel Lee, Calgary Stampeders
The former NFL linebacker had a stellar play midway through the second quarter when he broke through a third-and-1 deficit and hit Justin Rankin for a four-yard loss. Rankin is as dangerous as anyone in the league when he has the ball in his hands, but Lee read the play brilliantly, wrapping his arms around the ball carrier, driving him with his feet and not letting go until the whistle blew. The result was a failure on the decline.
Honorable Mention: REC Aiden Eberhardt, BC Lions.
Worst Game of the Week: Quick Whistle
The officials at Mosaic Stadium cost the home team early in the third quarter when Keon Hatcher caught a pass near the Saskatchewan goal line and then missed on a hard hit from DaMarcus Fields. Tevon Campbell picked up the loose ball and returned it for the Roughriders' touchdown, although on replay it was determined that the official had called the play off early, wiping out the entire 108-yard return. Yes.
Honorable Mention: QB Matthew Schiltz, Ottawa Redblacks.
Game of the Week: BC Lions vs. Saskatchewan Roughriders
Saskatchewan didn't have much to play for this week, but the team still showed plenty of intensity with most of its players in the starting lineup. Trevor Harris was accurate for a quarter and a half of play, and Nathan Rourke threw the ball all over Mosaic Stadium, hitting Aiden Eberhardt twice for touchdowns. If these teams meet in the Western Final in a couple of weeks, it will be a real dandy.
Honorable Mention: Calgary Stampeders vs. Edmonton Elks.
Worst Game of the Week: Montreal Alouettes vs. Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Football can be difficult to watch when no defender is included in the game, and that was absolutely the case in this game as McLeod Bethel-Thompson and Terry Wilson struggled to get anything going. The atmosphere and unseasonably warm weather favored the fans in the stadium, but the game offered virtually nothing to the fans watching on television. We hope that the Eastern semi-final between these same clubs will be much more interesting.
Honorable Mention: Ottawa Redblacks vs. Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
