3 Netflix Shows You Need to Binge This Weekend (October 31

The weekend is finally here and that can only mean one thing: watching Netflix! If you're having trouble deciding what to watch, I'm here to help. I think these three shows are great, so I hope you enjoy them too.

Since it's Halloween, I chose shows with a darker or spookier tone, although you can easily watch them all year round.

Narcos: Mexico

Narcos: Mexico this is a companion series Narcosthe latter of which primarily focuses on the drug war in Colombia and the DEA agents trying to overthrow Pablo Escobar. If you haven't seen the main show, which debuted in 2015 and spanned three seasons, I highly recommend you check it out. You don't have to watch to understand the meaning. Mexicobut this is just one of best Netflix shows; it is a dramatization of real events, which makes it even more entertaining.

As you can tell by the name, Narcos: Mexico shifts focus from Colombia to North America. The show chronicles the origins and growth of the drug trade in Mexico. Diego Luna plays Miguel Angel Felix Gallardo, the leader of a powerful cartel, and Michael Peña plays Kiki Camarena, a real-life DEA agent who moved with his family from the US to Guadalajara. The show progresses over three seasons, with different characters coming and going, but it remains completely captivating throughout.

Narcos: Mexico will hook you immediately with her smart writing. The show is dark, shocking and violent, as you'd expect from its subject matter, but it's also surprisingly funny, partly because of how absurd some people and situations are. It's also visually stunning, with gorgeous cinematography and impressive action scenes. Although I don't think the third season is as good as the previous two overall Mexico brilliantly.

The Walking Dead: Dead City

Regular readers of this column know that I'm mega The Walking Dead fan. Everything the franchise produces, I consume. Despite this, I am not blindly faithful. I admit that the main TV show had its fluctuations and side effects such as The world beyond And Fear the Walking Dead stumbled into disastrous territory. With that in mind, I'm happy to recommend The Walking Dead: Dead City. The action takes place after the events of the now ended The Walking Deadwhere fan-favorite characters Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) face new threats in Manhattan.

These two have a lot of baggage to carry, but I don't think you need to be a veteran of the series to appreciate it. Dead city. Negan and Maggie travel to a zombie-infested island to rescue Maggie's son, Hershel (Logan Kim), who has been kidnapped by a brutal gang leader named Horvath (Zeljko Ivanek). Along the way, the pair encounter all sorts of bizarre souls, many of them more dangerous than shambling, flesh-eating corpses – although there's still plenty of horror on that front, and it's impressive that the creative team still finds ways to surprise the zombies.

There are two seasons Dead citya third is on the way under a new showrunner, but unfortunately Netflix only has the first. The rest may eventually end up on Netflix, but you may want to subscribe to them. AMC+ if you can't wait; it's a home for everything The Walking Dead.

Haunted Hotel

Haunted Hotel This great animated show for adults it debuted on Netflix in September and is perfect for Halloween viewing. It's about the Freeling family – mother Katherine (Eliza Coop) and her two children Ben (Skyler Gisondo) and Esther (Natalie Palamides) – who move into a hotel and strive to make it a successful business. There's just one small problem: the hotel is haunted by various spirits (surprise!), including Katherine's late brother, Nathan (Will Forte), who left the hotel to the family in his will and wants to help run it.

Despite the terrible situation, Haunted Hotel This is not a scary watch. Although he has demons and evil spirits, he is much more interested in making you laugh than scaring you. It's true that not all the jokes land, but the voice actors deliver them well and overall the episodes are funny and entertaining. The family dynamics and their relationships with the hotel residents are particularly good. I also like 2D animation, colorful and expressive; there are some particularly cool supernatural character designs.

The show consists of ten 25-minute episodes, and I suspect you'll binge watch them all in no time. Fortunately, it was renewed for a second season (unlike many Reveals Netflix Unceremoniously Canceling), so hopefully it won't be too long before we can check back in for more antics.

Hate Halloween? There are many funny movies to stream if you want to get away from all this talk about ghosts and avoid the tricks. Consider watching shows on Netflix, such as Brooklyn Nine-Ninewhich is sure to make you laugh.
