The Canadian women's hockey team will bring a host of familiar faces to its final pre-Olympic games in Edmonton next week.

The final two games of the 2025-26 Canada-US rivalry series will take place on December 10 and 13 at Rogers Place in Edmonton. Both games will begin at 9:00 pm ET.

Twenty players who took part in the first match of the Rivalry Series last month will return to the 25-player roster as the Canadian staff prepares to make final roster decisions.

The 23-player Olympic team is expected to be named in January ahead of Team Canada's first game against Finland on Feb. 5.

“These last two games are crucial in our preparation to play the team. [Milano] The Cortina Games are less than 70 days away,” said Canadian grandmaster Gina Kingsbury.

Thirty players participated in Team Canada's training ahead of these games as Canadian staff look forward to seeing everyone in contention for a spot on the Olympic team.

Ottawa Charge forward Emily Clarke will make her Rivalry Series debut after being sidelined by an injury in November. Veterans Jocelyne Larocque and Brianne Jenner, who both wear Team Canada letters, are also on the list this time around, as is starting goalie Anne- Renee Debiens and Nicole Gosling, rookie defender for Montreal Victoire.

Vancouver Goldeneyes forward Sarah Nurse will not take part in the return match of the Rivalry Series. She missed the last two games in Vancouver with a lower-body injury that appears to have been sustained during the Goldeneyes' franchise opener.

Vancouver forward Hannah Miller, Montreal defenseman Katie Tabin, New York captain Mika Zandi-Hart and University of Minnesota Duluth goalie Yves Gascon all played for Team Canada in November but were left out of the squad.

Miller's eligibility to play for Team Canada was in question. The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) stripped Miller, who previously represented Team China, of his right to compete at the World Championships earlier this year. Hockey Canada appealed the decision and is still awaiting a response.

The United States leads the rivalry series 2-0 after two lopsided wins in Buffalo and Cleveland in November. The Americans beat the Canadians 10-2.

“We are confident that we have built a group that will give us a chance to succeed as we finish the series in front of our fans and hometown audience,” Kingsbury said.

PWHL and NCAA play will also be a deciding factor in who makes the final Canadian roster. The PWHL will pause the Rivalry Series and resume play on December 16th.
