The 2025 AP All-American teams were announced Monday, with 81 players earning a spot on one of three teams. The first team is led by four Ohio State Buckeyes — Caleb Downs, Jeremiah Smith, Bill Reese And Kayden McDonald. Downs is the only player in the country to make the first team in 2024 and 2025.
A total of 10 Big Ten players earned first-team honors while leading all-conference; The SEC was second with six players, ahead of the Big 12 (3) and Independents (3).
Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza took the place of the first team quarterback Vanderbilt Diego Paviawhich earned the second team nod. Mendoza is one of six Hoosiers to earn an All-American berth. Indiana had the best regular season in program history. Texas Tech This is another school coming off one of its greatest seasons, and the Red Raiders were also rewarded with four All-American selections – all on defense.
Miami wide receiver Malachi Tony is the only true freshman to earn a 2025 All-America berth with a second-team selection, and Ohio State guard Julian Sayin was a third-team selection as a redshirt freshman.
