Scheherazade? More like Shahera-Zaddy. It's time for folklore to get hot again thanks to a weird feminist film 100 nights of a hero. Based on the graphic novel of the same name by Isabelle Greenberg, the upcoming adaptation follows a young bride named Cherry (scream queen Maika Monroe) whose husband (Amir El-Masry) leaves her in the care of the sexy Manfred (Nicholas Galitzine) and her maid Hera (Emma Corrin). Unbeknownst to Cherry, her husband made a bet with Manfred that if he could seduce his wife in 100 nights, he would give Manfred the entire estate. To stay on track, Hero tells Cherry stories every evening, loosely adapting the framework of a classic collection of Arabic folk tales. Thousand and one nights. “Any time you need rescue, I will tell a story,” Hero promises in the exclusive trailer. Along with the dreamy main cast, the trailer offers glimpses of Richard E. Grant as local deity Birdman, Felicity Jones as Luna/Narrator and Charlie XCX as Rosecharacter in fairy tales Hero.
The sexuality of the trailer is driven by competition. Both Hero and Manfred want Cherry's attention, and they constantly outplay each other to the point of fainting. “That’s where it is,” says Manfred Cherry. “I was hoping we could have a drink.” But the Hero replies: “I would like a drink.” Then, when Manfred protests that “only two glasses,” Hero insists, “I can use the flask.”
100 nights of the hero written and directed by Julia Jackman, who directed the musical comedy Bonus trackbased on the story by Josh O'Connor, 2024. The film will hit theaters on December 5th. See you before bed.
